Created in 1998, Windfall Ecology Centre is a non-profit social enterprise dedicated to building sustainable communities. The creation of Windfall was inspired by a vision of healthy communities, where economic, social, and environmental needs achieve balance through social innovation, community partnership, and community action. Windfall’s membership is supported by the City of Vaughan, making Vaughan the first municipality in York Region to support the development of a target-based sustainability program. Niagara Sustainability Initiative

NSI Logo_BestNiagara Sustainability Initiative (NSI) is a non-profit organization focused on improving environmental and economic performance in the Niagara Region. To facilitate this NSI runs a program called the Carbon Project designed to aid organizations in measuring managing and reducing their carbon footprint. There are currently 20 Carbon Project partners. NSI also hosts a number of educational events throughout the year in order to engage partners and community members in environmental sustainability principles and practices. Sustainable Hamilton Burlington (SHB)  Sustainable Hamilton Burlington is an independent community-based, non-profit social enterprise dedicated to inspiring sustainability leadership in businesses and other organizations for a healthier environment and thriving, resilient communities. Their work focuses around three main pillars: collaborative learning, supporting measurable action and credible recognition. SHB’s Sustainability Leaders program has supported members since 2011 in the measurement, tracking and reporting of their triple bottom-line performance.  By enhancing the environmental, social and economic performance of their organizations, SHB aims to create sustainable prosperity for the cities of Hamilton and Burlington overall.
